STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE

STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE

Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a Gothic horror novella published in 1886 by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. Mr. Gabriel John Utterson, who is a London-based legal practitioner investigates a series of strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and a murderous criminal named Edward Hyde. Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has become one of the most famous pieces of English literature; it is considered to be a defining book of the gothic horror genre. In this novella, Stevenson suggests that the human tendencies for good and evil do not necessarily co-exist in equal measure in us. Needless to say, that the two alter egos of the main character, have become a symbol for the exhibition of extremely contradictory behavior in people, especially between private and public selves.
